Professor Jablonka, from the Cohn Institute for the History of Philosophy of Science and Ideas, will deliver her lecture, The Extended Evolutionary Synthesis: Towards a New Unification of the Life Sciences?

The extended evolutionary synthesis (EES) is a 21st century version of evolutionary theory. According to the EES, developmental processes, including developmental induction, developmental construction and developmental selection, each play a crucial role in heredity and evolution alongside processes of Darwinian selection.
