Early Mapping of the Bay -

In this very first episode Chris Cerino will take an in-depth look at one of the earliest known Chesapeake Bay Maps, John Smith (1612). This document does a remarkable job of setting the scene for the Chesapeake before and after European colonization.
Diversity in the Outdoors - with Doncella Wilson & Clarence Gilmer

Doncella Wilson, social worker and Kent County native, has dedicated herself to promoting African American history and culture on the Eastern Shore. Clarence Gilmer, II describes himself as “a naturalist, survivalist, outdoor educator, philosopher, adventurer and all-around nice guy.” They’ll join Sultana to discuss their own experiences in the outdoors as well as what challenges and success organizations may find as they endeavor to promote diversity amongst both participants and staff in outdoor education.
Bay Science 101 - with John Mann

Everything you wanted to know about the Bay, but were afraid to ask. John Mann presents a primer for those who want to better understand the ecological factors that combine to form our present-day Chesapeake Bay complete with a few science experiments you can replicate at home.

Chris Cerino will take viewers on a tour of the latest addition to Sultana Education Foundation's Holt Education Center, the First Contact Room. Featuring a mixture of original and reproduced artifacts, this room serves as a jumping off point for those wishing to learn more about the tribes and cultures that inhabited this area prior to Jamestown.

Fish + Plants = Aquaponics - with Lauren Croissant

Join SEF's Chesapeake Conservation Corps member, Lauren Croissant, as she showcases a small-scale aquaponics system, the newest addition to Sultana's Wet Lab. Aquaponics creates an ecosystem between fish, plants, and good bacteria to produce food without negatively affecting the environment. She will talk about the biological processes happening within the system, the role of aquaponics in sustainable agriculture, and how Sultana will use it in its educational programming.
Explore the Lawrence Wetland Preserve - with John Mann
