Chef Martha Quispo invites diners to enjoy a taste of Peru

Peruvian Chef Martha Quispe invites guests to taste her Pescado a lo Macho at a special event to be held at Caliente Grill on Thursday, July 21, 2022.

Chef Martha Quespe is the Executive Chef of Caliente Grill in Annapolis, Maryland. A native of Cuzco, Peru, Martha has years of experience in preparing gourmet Peruvian cuisine. Chef Quespe is a member of PACHA - Peruvian American Chef Association, and was recognized for participating in the celebration of the Bicentennial of Peru at the Maryland State House. She brought her talents to Caliente Grill in 2020.

Chef Martha was invited to participate in Governor Larry Hogan’s 2022 Governor’s Buy Local Cookout, a cooking competition held at Government House in Annapolis, Maryland on July 21. The event pits Maryland chefs against each other in a quest to make best use of local ingredients like produce, meat and seafood. The winner of the Best Chef designation may attend a national cooking competition to be held in Texas.

Chef Quispo is offering a special opportunity to taste her authentic cuisine. “We wanted to showcase Martha’s extraordinary talent to people beyond the Governor’s cookout,” said Caliente Grill owner Roxana Rodriguez. “We’ll treat guests to a Peruvian appetizer and to Martha’s signature entry in the competition “Pescado a lo Macho.” This dish exemplifies the best of Peruvian seafood and garden produce, and will do the same for Chesapeake fish and vegetables.
