Rolling Stops - POSTPONED
Theatre Project 45 W. Preston St., Baltimore, Maryland 21201
Rolling Stops is a one-person, storytelling show by Phill Branch that examines living outside the prescribed definitions of blackness and masculinity. Rolling Stops refers to that slow roll of motion, as we sometimes drift into intersections; fully aware of the dangers of not making a complete stop. This has been Phill’s life.
The show explores the pain, the fear and the joy of his going in search of self, but ultimately discovering he might have had everything he needed all along – a Wizard of Oz tale of sorts.
Phill Branch is a storyteller working in film, creative nonfiction and theater. He is the 2019 recipient of the Maryland State Arts Council’s Solo Performance Artist Award and a 2019 Rubys Artist Award grantee for storytelling and performance. He is currently a Visiting Professor at Goucher College in Communication and Media Studies, focusing on race and ethnicity in film and media.
