Join us for the start of an Italian food & wine dinner series. This new series will focus on the different cuisines and wines of Italy. Each of the upcoming dinners will focus on a specific region of Italy, showcasing that regions local dishes. In additon, the wines of that region will be expertly paired to each dish so that you can experience the wine and food as it was meant to be experienced! You will feel like you are eating and drinking in a small Italian village nestled amongst the hills and vineyards!!! Guiding you through the food and wine each night will be Tony Polzer, Italian Wine Ambassador (IWA). He will be on hand to discuss the differnt wines, as well as touch upon the local dishes and the culture of the region. So not only will you have an amazing wine-paired dinner, but you will also come away from the evening with some newfound knoweldge of that regions food and wine scene!
No better way to start this series than with one of Italy's most famous regions: Tuscany! The birthplace of da Vinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli and the entire Italian Renaissance. Famous for its rolling hills and walled hill-towns. And home to some of the best food and wine on the planet! The food of Tuscany can generally be described as hearty, with its rich flavours and its focus on meats & game. Given the heartiness of its cuisine, it makes sense that the wines of Tuscany are predominantly red. Think Sangiovese, the King of Tuscan grapes! But Tuscany does have more to offer than just it's world famous red wines. They also produce excellent white wines and one of Italy's most famous dessert wines: Vin Santo.
