Women in Maryland
O'Briens 113 Main Street, Annapolis, Maryland 21401
Maryland women have been making their mark on history for the past four hundred years. While you’ve heard of some, like Harriet Tubman, do you know the name of the first woman elected to Maryland’s House of Delegates…and also the Senate? Have you ever heard of Laura Petty? Historian Jean Russo will highlight several incredible women across four centuries and their contributions to Maryland’s history, as recorded in the book Maryland: A History.
