Restoring the James Brice House: A Return to 1774
O'Briens 113 Main Street, Annapolis, Maryland 21401
From its 1764-1774 construction to the present, the James Brice House has represented the architectural grandeur of Annapolis’s Golden Age. It has survived largely intact, with virtually all of its decorative plaster and woodwork remaining. The state-of-the-art restoration project now underway will conserve every original component and recreate those building features lost or altered through the past centuries. Michael Day, HA’s Senior Vice President of Capital Projects, explains how a colonial masterpiece is being reborn through the expertise and efforts of a team of skilled preservation professionals.
