David Folkenflik
Folkenflik joined NPR in 2004 after more than a decade at the Baltimore Sun, where he covered higher education, national politics and the media. WYPR is delighted to welcome Folkenflik back to Baltimore for one night only on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Baltimore Center Stage.
Folkenflik's reports cast light on the stories of our age, the figures who shape journalism and the tectonic shifts affecting the news industry. In addition to his stories and analyses broadcast on NPR, his work has appeared in such publications as the Washington Post, Politico Magazine, Newsweek International, the National Post of Canada, and the Australian Financial Review. Business Insider has called Folkenflik one of the 50 most influential people in American media.
Approximate run time is 40 minutes with a Q&A after the lecture.
There will be a private reception with Folkenflik from 6 PM – 7:15 PM with wine, beer and hors d'ouervres. The guests attending the private reception will have a special reserved seating section for the 7:30 PM main event.
Street parking is available. There is also a garage diagonally across from the theater at E Monument and N Calvert Streets ($5 per vehicle), located at 601 N Calvert Street.
The café at Baltimore Center Stage will be closed, but the Head Theater bar will be open before the main event.
