Show off your skills and compete against other chess players in the community during the annual Adult & Youth Chess Tournaments at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center Feb. 7-8.

The youth tournament, for youth ages 5-18, kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7. Players are guaranteed four matches and can register in advance for $7, or day-of starting at 3 p.m. for $12.

The adult tournament, for participants 19 and older, begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8. Registration is $12 in advance or $17 at the door and players are guaranteed three matches.

Awards will be given to first, second and third place winners. Players are also encouraged to bring their own chess sets and clocks.

The tournaments are located in the Civic Center’s Da Nang Rooms. Food and drinks will be available via the concession stand during the youth tournament.
