Did you know there is an entire week dedicated to appreciating waffles? It's really no wonder, since waffles are one of the best and most versatile eakfast foods out there. Really, how many eakfast foods have built-in syrup cups? Only waffles. We figured why not play around and have a little fun with the beloved eakfast food? These cinnamon roll waffles are just that: fun. They're a great combination of classic waffles and sugary, drippy cinnamon rolls.
Ingredients
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 Tbsp. white sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 stick softened butter
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
8 ounces softened cream cheese
3-5 Tbsp. heavy cream
4 Tbsp. powdered sugar
Special tools: waffle maker
Directions
Preheat your waffle maker. Combine flour, 1 Tbsp. sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Form a well in the center. In a small bowl, whisk the eggs. Pour eggs, milk, vegetable oil and vanilla into the center of the well. Stir to combine but do not overmix. Pour 1/4 cup of waffle mix into each waffle slot. Close the waffle maker and let cook for approximately 7 minutes until golden own and crisp. While your waffles cook, prepare your butter and cream cheese glaze. Take the softened butter and combine it with the remaining 2 Tbsp. of sugar. Mix well. Combine the cream cheese and powdered sugar. Add heavy cream a tablespoon at a time until the cream cheese glaze reaches the consistency you want. When the waffles are finished cooking, top them with a generous serving of cinnamon sugar butter and cream cheese glaze.
