1 recipe pizza dough
Olive oil
Your favorite pizza toppings (marinara sauce, cheese, veggies, and meats)
Cornmeal (or flour)
Pour the olive oil into a small bowl. You'll use it to grease the grill and ush onto the pizza. Chop any veggies or cook meat that you plan to use as topping.
r
Shape the pizza dough by stretching it out with your hands on a lightly floured surface. Don't worry about making it perfectly even or round – the uneven, irregular shape gives it a rustic, homemade look. Don't make a raised rim for the crust of the pizza because it interferes when trying to grill.
r
Prepare your grill. When it's hot, use tongs to hold a paper towel dipped in olive oil to grease the grill grates. Place the pizza dough on the grill, close the lid, and let it cook for two minutes. After two minutes, open the grill and check the bottom of the dough using tongs or a spatula to see if it's getting owned. If not, close the lid and continue to cook for a minute at a time until the bottom has owned. The top of the dough will start bubbling up with air pockets.
r
Remove the crust from the grill and place it on a cookie sheet or pizza peel, flipping it over so the grilled side is facing up. Brush on olive oil, and then top with 1 cup of sauce, followed by your favorite toppings, and then sprinkle on the cheese. If you're using meat, put it on top of the cheese. Don't put too many toppings on the pizza because it's easy to overload the dough.
r
Slide the pizza back onto the grill. Close the lid and cook for two to three minutes, until the bottom is slightly charred and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove the pizza from the grill and let it rest before cutting it into slices.
