Ingredients
1 jalapeño, chopped
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
6 cups cold water
Directions
In a sauce pan over medium high heat, combine the sugar, water and jalapeño. If you want your drink to be less spicy, remove the seeds from the pepper.Heat the mixture and stir to dissolve the sugar. Bring to a rolling boil then remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove the jalapeño chunks and seeds. Combine the sugar mixture, lemon juice and water in a large pitcher. Chill for at least 1 hour.
Makes 6 to 8 cups lemonade.
