I’ve forgotten to add eggs to peanut butter cookies, burned the edges of chocolate-peanut butter bars, and neglected to add baking powder to muffins. But this recipe for a microwaveable chocolate cake seems like something even I could manage.

rChocolate and Caramel Mug Cakes
I like this recipe because it’s easy to make one or two servings and it only takes minutes to create a sweet treat (that doesn’t come from a box!
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
r4 tablespoons sguar
r3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
r1/4 teaspoon baking powder
r1/4 teaspoon salt
r1 egg, beaten
3 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 salted caramels
rr3 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 salted caramels
Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, salt, egg, milk, and vegetable oil in a small bowl, mixing thoroughly. Pour it into a standard-sized coffee mug and drop the caramels in the center of the mixture, one at a time.
rrPut mug in the microwave and cook for one minute, 30 seconds. If the batter is still slightly gooey, continue to microwave for an additional 30 seconds until its reached the desired consistency.
