2011 saw the end of Austin Grill, a Tex-Mex restaurant, as well as McCormick and Schmick's, a national seafood chain restaurant. While I had never dined at Austin Grill, McCormick and Schmick's had a very well-priced happy hour that some What's Up? coworkers and I had taken advantage of, as well as delicious fish tacos. I suppose that whenever the craving for fish tacos strikes again, I'll never to head to Paladar Latin Kitchen, as they also have that great entree item on the menu.
Please note that there is a rumor that Stoney River Legendary Steaks also closed, but that is not true -- we have confirmed they are still open.
It's hard to say what goes into a decision to close a restaurant, though the economy is likely a factor. The same factor also sometimes makes print advertising harder to do, and sometimes, word-of-mouth just isn't enough ... However, we wish the best of luck to the former employees of these two restaurants, and hope that this ends the trend of closings.
