As salons remain closed until further notice, use the directions below to remove nail polishes and finishes:
DIP POWDER:
- Carefully clip off excess dip powder as close to your real nails as possible.
- Using a coarse file to remove top layers (the more you file them down, the better the colors will be soaked off).
- Pour 100% acetone into cotton pieces (if available) or cotton pads til soaked throughout, then place them on top of your filed nails. Wrapping your nails up with tinfoil.
- Soak them for 10-15 mins again longer depending on the thickness, unwrap the foil, then use the same cotton to rub back and forth until all colors melt out.
- Re-soak the nails if excess colors are still on.
- Wash your hand throughout, apply cuticle oil, and/or nail hardener.
GEL POLISH:
- Carefully clip off gel nails as close to your natural nails.
- Using a coarse file rough up the surface of the polish until the shine is gone.
- Wrap them in tinfoil with soaked-acetone piece of cotton or cotton pad.
- Wait around 10-15 mins, unwrap them, then use a cuticle pusher to remove all the gel polish (working upward and downward)
ACRYLICS NAILS:
- Carefully clip off excess acrylics including fake tips, cutting them steps by steps close to your natural nails as much as possible.
- Using a nail file (a coarse one) remove all gel nail polish as you can until you see clear acrylics underneath.
- Pour 100% acetone into cotton pieces (if available) or cotton pads until soaked throughout, then place them on top of your buffed nails. Wrapping your nails up with tinfoil.
- After 10-15 or longer depending on the thickness of your acrylics, unwrap the foils, then remove the excess acrylics with a cuticle pusher.
- If there is still some acrylics on them, rewrap and soak more until all gone.
- Wash your hand throughout, apply cuticle oil, and/or nail hardener.
