brbr“The first doctor I saw about my varicose veins said I needed surgery that would leave ugly scars on my legs. A friend who had the same procedure said the pain was worse than childbirth. So for years I lived with the tingling, the swelling, and the discomfort.”
– Robyn J.
brbrFortunately, today we can treat Venous Insufficiency with a minimally invasive procedure called Venefit™ (VNUS® Closure), which is completed in our offices in a matter of minutes. Closure is covered by most insurance plans and patients can return to normal activity or work the same day.
brbr “I was very nervous about having VNUS Closure done but I knew it was something that was very much needed for my health. From the first screening visit, I knew this is where I wanted to have my procedure done. The Closure Procedure itself was very comfortable, very relaxed atmosphere, and very friendly staff.”

brbrAt MVP, we advocate a minimally invasive treatment approach. Many patients are told that they must undergo vein stripping surgery. While this may be necessary in rare cases of complex anatomy or severe disease; we find that the vast majority of patients can be successfully treated without traditional surgical vein stripping.
brbrSclerotherapy is the traditional treatment for spider veins. Typically, this is a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment where an FDA-approved medication is injected into the tiny veins to clear them. We have a dedicated team of R.N. sclerotherapists with thousands of hours of experience in this art.
brbrTo find out if you’re a candidate for any of these treatments, please call our office for a full venous evaluation at 877-MD-VEIN or 410-268-5347. Or schedule your own appointment on our website: www.MDVeinProfessionals.com
brbrAppointments available evenings & Saturdays. Most insurance plans accepted.
Varicose Veins are a Treatable Medical Condition
brbrVaricose Veins are a common problem in the USA, afflicting as many as 70% of women and 40% of men by age 60. The bulging, aching, and unsightly veins often appear as a result of an underlying medical condition called Venous Insufficiency. For decades, the treatment of this condition was limited to either vein stripping that was extremely painful, required many incisions during a lengthy surgery, needed an overnight hospital stay, and took up to two weeks to recover. The other alternate therapy was lifetime of compression stockings.brOne of our patients had an experience like this before coming to the MVP office:brbr“The first doctor I saw about my varicose veins said I needed surgery that would leave ugly scars on my legs. A friend who had the same procedure said the pain was worse than childbirth. So for years I lived with the tingling, the swelling, and the discomfort.”

You Do Not Have to Suffer brWith Varicose Veins
brbrWith the Closure Procedure, there is a gentle treatment for Venous Insufficiency, the underlying cause of Varicose Veins. This quick, minimally invasive catheter procedure closes the damaged veins below the skin surface that allow abnormal pressure to build in the bulging skin veins. After the treatment, venous pressure is redirected back into the healthy veins of your leg. By correcting the abnormal pressure, the bulging veins at your skin’s surface may often flatten and fade. Any residual veins may be removed with outpatient ambulatory microphlebectomy or cosmetic techniques such as Sclerotherapy. A patient of ours had this to say about her recent Closure Procedure:brbr “I was very nervous about having VNUS Closure done but I knew it was something that was very much needed for my health. From the first screening visit, I knew this is where I wanted to have my procedure done. The Closure Procedure itself was very comfortable, very relaxed atmosphere, and very friendly staff.”

Spider Vein Treatments
brbr“Spider Veins” or telangiectasia are an early sign of Venous Insufficiency that appear when tiny skin veins, previously invisible, become engorged and enlarge. We evaluate patients with a careful ultrasound evaluation that will usually show a deeper source of reflux in a single source vein.brbrSclerotherapy is the traditional treatment for spider veins.
