Is good health care really hard to find in this day and age? Apparently Clarence David Moore certainly thinks so. That why he called the Franklin County Kentucky Sheriff’s Office last week and turned himself in after being on the lam for 39 years. Records show that Moore escaped from state prison in North Carolina on three different occasions in the 1970s. His final attempt in August of 1976, however, was the charm.
But recently Moore has suffered several serious health setbacks including diabetes and partial paralysis from a stroke—but he can’t get medical coverage because he doesn’t have a Social Security number under his alias, Ronnie Dickinson.
So now the state of North Carolina will once again be responsible for Mr. Moore as he is not fighting extradition.
