Fostering a strong sense of community engagement
When Annapolis Mall celebrated its 45th anniversary in August 2025, the milestone occasion underscored the shopping center’s rich history and longevity. A mainstay of the community, the mall has continued to evolve throughout the years—adapting to meet the changing needs of shoppers. Like many malls, Annapolis Mall shifted its focus—moving beyond traditional retail and transforming itself into a vibrant gathering place for the community that not only offers shopping but also dining, entertainment, and a wide variety of social and interactive experiences.
The Magic of the Holidays
Annapolis Mall is considered a go-to destination for shopping, playing, and connecting with the community. As the holiday season approaches, the mall is pleased to announce its exciting lineup of events. A popular annual tradition, the mall will host “Santapolis: A Magical Holiday Experience” now through December 24 near Crate & Barrel. The festive event features photos with Santa, children’s activities, holiday decorations, and much more.
As part of “Santapolis,” pets will also have the opportunity to have their photos taken with Santa. The pet-friendly photo sessions take place on Mondays in December from 4–7 p.m. In addition, Annapolis Mall has partnered again this year with Autism Speaks (autismspeaks.org) to present “Sensory-friendly Santa” on December 7 from 9–10:30 a.m. This event is designed for children with sensory sensitivities and offers reduced noise and lighting.
“We’re thrilled to bring families together for ‘Santapolis,’” says Morgan McLoud, marketing director, Annapolis Mall. “We put so much heart into every detail to create something truly magical and memorable—from interactive activities to multiple photo moments. Families can capture the magic of the season and create memories they will treasure for years to come.”
Rick Brady, the current Santa at Annapolis Mall, is also excited to celebrate the holiday season at “Santapolis.”
“The dedicated ‘Santapolis’ space at Annapolis Mall has created a truly special and one-of-a-kind place for me and the children,” says Brady, who is affectionately known as Santa Rick. “The setting allows for meaningful conversations with even the softest-spoken kids and helps me comfort those who may feel a little nervous. What I cherish most is seeing children and adults alike leave with the same joyful Christmas smile.”
