“To everything there is a season,” says the Bible…or Pete Seeger, depending on your inclination. And for these four Eastern Shore homeowners, the time has come to say goodbye to the large suburban home, the property that needs mowing—or alternately, shoveling—and usually, a mind-numbing commute. Time instead for small (or at least, as a rule, smaller) homes, knowing your neighbors, walking to shops, and experiencing life as it must have been when the Shore was first settled centuries ago.
