As a litigation attorney, Mr. Walter focuses primarily on courtroom trial work, representing both plaintiffs and defendants within the Maryland court system. Litigation encompasses a wide range of practice areas, and while some attorneys concentrate on fields such as family or real estate law, his firm is dedicated largely to criminal and traffic defense, as well as personal injury matters—including serious auto accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability—and breach of contract cases. This breadth of experience allows him to advocate effectively for clients across a variety of complex legal situations.

When it comes to what defines a strong trial lawyer, Mr. Walter emphasizes two essential qualities: preparation and client communication. Early in his career, a seasoned Circuit Court judge offered advice that has stayed with him for nearly two decades: to approach every trial with “a belt and suspenders”—in other words, to be thoroughly and thoughtfully overprepared. This philosophy continues to guide his approach in the courtroom.

Equally important, he believes, is maintaining clear and honest communication with clients. By ensuring clients understand every aspect of their case—including potential challenges and outcomes—he helps foster confidence and comfort throughout the legal process.
