Chestertown’s newest art gallery does not focus on local or contemporary art. Instead, Brady Hart Gallery has a world class selection of investment quality art to fulfill your needs. We realize that choosing art for decorating or for investment is a very personal journey. We focus on great artists through time, from the Renaissance to the Modern art movement and everything in between. You will find a keen selection of German academic artists, as well as a strong supply of American Impressionists and a healthy supply of California art. Working from a small physical gallery in Chestertown, the gallery relies heavily upon its website to share the hundreds of paintings in inventory with the world. The website, located at www.BradyHart.com, is a resource for decorators, investors, and fine art collectors the world over. Working with significant private collectors from both coasts, Brady Hart Gallery now represents the largest private collection of paintings by expatriate American Impressionist William Henry Singer, Jr., as well as the artistic estate of film director Josef von Sternberg, who introduced the world to actress Marlene Dietrich. Among the most impressive holdings that are represented are a great and large painting by Benjamin West, a colonial era American painter who worked extensively in England. The gallery also represents significant holdings by Joseph Raphael, the California Impressionist who worked in Belgium and the Netherlands. John Singer Sargent is represented at the gallery by a full length portrait of a Scottish Gentleman, Mr. George Frederick McCorquodale. The portrait measures an impressive 58 x 38”.
