COLUMBIA, MD –MISSION BBQ, known for its traditional American BBQ and dedication to honoring our service men and women, today opens its eleventh location in Annapolis, marking the restaurant’s sixth location in the State of Maryland. With current locations throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and North Carolina, MISSION BBQ co-owners Bill Kraus and Steve Newton are pleased to serve homemade, handcrafted, low and slow BBQ with a side of patriotism to the home of the United States Naval Academy.
“After opening our very first restaurant in Glen Burnie on September 11, 2011, on the tenth anniversary of the day that changed the world forever, we are honored to return to Anne Arundel County,” says co-founder Bill Kraus. “Being the home to the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis is a community we hold very close to our hearts.”
As is tradition with the opening of every MISSION BBQ, the new location hosted charity nights throughout the week leading up to today’s grand opening, with proceeds going to local police and fire departments in Annapolis and Anne Arundel Country, as well as the Wounded Warrior Project.
Annapolis residents and visitors will now experience traditional favorites done the MISSON BBQ way, including Texas Inspired Beef Brisket; Jalapeño and Cheese Sausage; and the bestselling North Carolina Pulled Pork Sandwich topped high with Cold Slaw. All MISSION BBQ meats are dry rubbed, smoked low and slow and served with a choice of homemade sauces including the peppery, essential fan-favorite, Classic North Carolina Vinegar. All MISSION BBQ sides are made-from-scratch and include Maggie’s Mac-N-Cheese; Baked Beans & Brisket; and Green Beans & Bacon. Desserts consist of an assortment of homemade Southern seasonal sweets.
The opening of the Annapolis location is part of MISSON BBQ’s vast expansion plan, with a targeted goal of 40 restaurants throughout the East Coast by 2018. MISSION BBQ is located at 2101 Somerville Road, Annapolis, MD 21401. The restaurant is open 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday; and 11:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Sunday.
