Annapolis - Annapolis Mayor Jared Littmann invites residents to join the Garden Club of Old Annapolis Towne in celebrating 71 years of May Day! Residents and businesses throughout the City are invited to join the Annapolis tradition by adorning their doors and storefronts with fresh flower arrangements on May 1.
Historic District and parts of Murray Hill are invited to participate in the Garden Club’s annual recognition program, which highlights displays within these areas. Residents within the boundaries (see map) who would like to participate should have their displays out by 10 a.m., labeled with their name and address.
Businesses may create floral displays relevant to their trade, labeled accordingly. Children are encouraged to participate by designing their own baskets and will receive pink participation ribbons. In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, each Blue and Pink Ribbon will include a commemorative gold seal. Judging begins at 10 a.m. and Adult Blue-Ribbon winners will receive an invitation to the May Day Tea on May 5, hosted by the Garden Club.
A cherished Annapolis tradition, May Day transforms our City into a breathtaking celebration of springtime beauty!
