New in 2025: In 2025, some Annapolis voters will be voting in new election wards. While the boundaries remain largely unchanged, some changed due to shifts in population. The foundations for change in ward boundaries came from the work of the Annapolis Ward Boundary and Redistricting Commission Task Force, established by the Annapolis City Council in 2021.
The new boundaries for each of the eight aldermanic wards is based on population data collected during the 2020 United States Census. In 2023, after presentation by the Task Force, the Annapolis City Council adopted new maps that more evenly distribute voters among each Ward. Before the 2025 municipal election, voters will receive individualized information via U.S. Postal Service about polling locations, dates, candidates, and ballot questions (if any).
