Annapolis, MD - The Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County (BGCAA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Kenneth McCants-Pearsall as the organization’s new CEO, effective February 2, 2026. Dr. McCants-Pearsall is an accomplished education and nonprofit leader with more than 22 years of experience driving transformative change in the K–12 and nonprofit sectors. He began his career as a Teach for America corps member and has since led schools, nonprofits, and national networks, consistently advancing organizational effectiveness, equity-driven strategies and community partnerships.
"I am honored to have been chosen to lead the Boys and Girls Clubs of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County into its next chapter. Having spent my entire career in service of children, I know how important it is for them to have places where they are seen, valued, nurtured and developed. BGCAA fills this need for the hundreds of kids in the communities we serve, and I look forward to helping to deepen and widen our impact in the years to come," Kenneth shared. "The mission of BGCAA cannot be achieved without deep and meaningful partnerships with families, community partners, and local and state leaders. I am eager to begin connecting with each of our current champions and cultivating new ones as I step into my role."
Dr. McCants-Pearsall takes over for Tyrnita Inge, who has served as Interim Chief Executive Officer since November. Mrs. Inge will continue in her role as the organization’s Director of Operations.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kenneth to the organization and deeply grateful for Tyrnita’s continued leadership. Their joint presence will ensure a smooth and seamless transition, and that our Clubs remain positioned for growth in the coming year,” said Sandy Stephens, Chair of the BGCAA Board of Directors. “We’re confident that Kenneth’s unique experience and deep knowledge of the education world will lead to greater success for the children and communities we serve.”
Kenneth holds an undergraduate degree in international business and marketing from Washington University in St. Louis, a Master of Public Administration from Texas Southern University, an Education Specialist degree from National Louis University, and a Doctorate in Education from Vanderbilt University. He is also an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and serves as the Director of Educational Activities for his chapter. He lives in Washington, DC, with his partner and their two children.
The Board and staff of BGCAA look forward to beginning a new chapter in our history!
