ASO KICKS OFF 50TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON WITH FREE CONCERT FOR ANNAPOLIS COMMUNITY
ANNAPOLIS, MD – To kick off its 50th Anniversary Season, the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra is presenting Lexus Pops in the Park. This free Labor Day Weekend concert will take place at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis on Sunday, September 4th at 5:30pm. The rain date is September 5th, same time, same place.
Set in the lovely outdoor theater at Quiet Waters Park, the annual Lexus Pops in the Park Labor Day concert features the ASO's full orchestra performing a fun and festive program for all ages. This crowd pleaser includes popular, classical, and patriotic favorites including Aaron Copland's John Henry, Dmitri Shostakovich's Festive Overture, A Michael Jackson Spectacular, a concert suite from Dances with Wolves and many others.
The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra is led by renowned Music Director José-Luis Novo. The 50th Anniversary season is dedicated to Philip Richebourg, co-founder and first board president of the ASO.
The Lexus Pops in the Park is part of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra's Lexus Summer Series which is generously supported by the Baltimore/Annapolis Lexus Dealers Association. Additional key support is provided by CFG Community Bank and season underwriter, Elizabeth Richebourg Rea.
There is free admission to Quiet Waters Park for the concert. Concessions are available from Pit Boys, but visitors may also feel free to ing a picnic. Alcohol is prohibited.
