Key School // Soccer, Basketball, Baseball
Being successful at three sports is not an easy feat to accomplish at the high school level but Aaron Wan finds a way.
In his four years at Key School, he has helped build the basketball team into a playoff contender, played center field for the baseball team beginning his junior year, and, last November, achieved the top moment of his athletic career when Key claimed the MIAA C Conference Soccer Championship with a 5-2 win over Mount Carmel.
“It’s one of the greatest moments of my life,” Wan says. “All the hard work, it really showed and that’s why we’re champions. It also helps when you have your others out there fighting for you. [It’s] definitely the closest team I have played on. We were family by the end of the season.”
His favorite professional athlete growing up is Kobe Bryant, whose game he has been trying to emulate on the court ever since picking up a basketball at the age of five. On the soccer field, Wan tries to model his skills after his father Luigi, who was talented enough to have the opportunity to play in a semi-pro league.
Wan will choose between attending the University of Delaware and the University of Pittsburgh. He plans to play Division I club basketball at college and is looking forward to the opportunity to experience the feel of a big school. “These were the schools that when I stepped on the campus, they felt like home to me,” he said.
