Indian Creek School // Lacrosse, Cross Country
Playing lacrosse for almost a decade has helped Baukhages mold his craft. As a sophomore he tallied 31 goals and 32 assists and topped that off with 64 goals and 28 assists his junior year for the Eagles.
He has earned 2013 Capital Gazette Second-Team All County, 2013 All-MIAA C Conference Team, and Indian Creek Most Outstanding Player.
Heading into his senior season with some hardware has its perks.
He is considering attending Lynn University, Post University, and Virginia Wesleyan College, all of which give him a strong opportunity to play and grow as a student-athlete. Boasting a 4.25 GPA, Baukhages is looking to delve into the medical or physical therapy fields because of his passion for helping others.
Other interests include playing guitar because, as he says, it’s another way for him to express himself. He’s also involved in the solo choir, The Modern Music Masters (Tri-M) Honor Society, and National Honor Society. “These help to challenge and push myself in other areas at school,” he says.
Baukhages draws inspiration from his mother because she pushes him to achieve the greatest in everything he does. In the world of sports, his motivation is fueled by NBA star Steve Nash because “he is not only a great basketball player but he also helps out his community with his foundation he created to help children find a place for empowerment,” Baukhages says.
