Tired of this unusually frigid and icy winter?
Even though you may not be able to work outdoors the way you want to because of the recent weather, you can prepare for spring with home and garden tips at the Annapolis Home and Remodeling Expo, occurring the next two weekends at the National Guard Armory in Annapolis.
More than 50 companies will be on hand to help you decide what you need to spruce up your home. Appearances by HGTV's Sa ina Soto (Fe uary 22nd), antiques appraiser Todd Peenstra (Fe uary 23rd), HGTV’s Stephen Fanuka (March 1st) and WMAL Radio’s Jos Roozen (March 2nd) will help add to the show’s knowledgebase.
Tickets for the expo are $5 for adults, $3 for retired & active military and free for children under 10.
While preparing for amicable Annapolis weather, peruse some of the top local establishments during Annapolis Restaurant Week, which begins Monday and continues through Sunday, March 2nd.
This week-long cele ation of Annapolis culinary excellence has 41 participating restaurants showing off the best meals Maryland's state capital has to offer. Those businesses will offer two course eakfasts at $12.95, two-course lunches at $15.95 and three-course dinners at $32.95.

While the previous two events aim to help adults prepare for a new season, the following are geared toward local youth.
Anne Arundel Medical Center will host the 5th Annual Youth Sports Injury Conference on Thursday from 5:30-9 p.m. Registration is required for this free event. The seminar will educate coaches, parents and trainers of athletes ages 9-19 on how to improve player health and prevent injuries.
Almost 20 dodgeball teams represented by local businesses will be channeling their inner Ben Stiller at the Easton High School gymnasium during the 2nd Annual Talbot Cup on Sunday from 12-5 p.m. The tournament is hosted by Junior Achievement of the Talbot County, a local anch of a national organization aimed at educating youth on business and financial skills.
The 26th Annual Anne Arundel County Spelling Bee will take place at the Board of Education (Carol S. Parham Building) in Annapolis on Saturday at 10 a.m. This top county spelling will head to the National Harbor for an all-expense paid trip to the Scripps National Spelling Bee at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in May.
