The chase is on in downtown Cam idge as the historic town cele ates the holidays with a Wild Goose Chase! Organized by the merchants of Cam idge Main Street, the Wild Goose Chase is a fun way to spend time downtown while shopping for those special holiday gifts.
r
Commencing on the Friday after Thanksgiving and running until December 22, hidden in the windows of participating downtown businesses will be anywhere from zero to 5 small geese. Each of the four weeks during the contest will present a new opportunity to find the geese and enter a drawing for special prizes. Pick up an entry form at any of the participating businesses and set off on your chase! Be sure to look carefully as the little geese will be cleverly hidden!
r
“We want people to come downtown and cele ate the holidays with us,” said Cam idge Main Street Executive Director Mari Stanley “ This is a fun way to explore our wonderful downtown businesses as you chase down those one-of-kind gifts.”
r
The rules are very simple: Write down on the entry form the name of each store where you found geese and the number you found there, and drop off your form at a participating business. Each week, forms with the most geese correctly identified will be entered into a drawing to win gift cards from downtown merchants. Locations of the geese will change each week, so there's lots of opportunity to play! Participating businesses, listed at www.cam idgemainstreet.com, will be identified with a ‘Christmas Goose’ card in their window. No purchase is necessary, but only one entry per person each week will be accepted.
r
In honor of the season and the Wild Goose Chase, businesses are decorating their windows with geese of every kind! Check out the gaily decorated geese throughout downtown. “What could be a better way to show our pride in our town and its heritage than to cele ate Christmas in Cam idge with a display of geese, the emblematic bird not only of Christmas, but also of Cam idge and the Eastern Shore,” said Stanley. “Come downtown with your friends and neighbors and enjoy the delights of the season with us in our warm and inviting waterfront community.”
