ANNAPOLIS, MD - The City of Annapolis will close City offices on Wednesday, December 25 in observance of Christmas and Wednesday, January 1, 2025 in observance of New Year’s Day. City offices will resume regular business hours on Thursday, December 26, 2024 and Thursday, January 2, 2025.
- Transit: On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, Annapolis Transit service will operate until 7 p.m. The Annapolis Transportation customer service window at 308 Chinquapin Round Road will remain open until 4 p.m. Annapolis Transportation will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Transit will not operate on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. Normal service will resume on Thursday, December 26 and Thursday, January 2, 2025.
- Refuse and Recycling: There will be no changes to the pickup schedule for this week (the City has no scheduled pickups on Wednesdays).
- Recreation and Parks: the Roger “Pip” Moyer Recreation Center and Stanton Community Center will close at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Both will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Regular hours resume on December 26 and January 26, 2025.
- Finance: the Finance customer service window at City Hall (160 Duke of Gloucester) will remain open until 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve and be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Regular hours resume on December 26 and January 26, 2025.
- Permits: the Planning and Zoning permit counter (145 Gorman St.) will close at noon on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve and be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Regular hours resume on December 26 and January 26, 2025.

- Midnight Madness, with downtown retail stores staying open, will take place in for the next two Thursdays: Dec. 12 and 19 in downtown. For more information, visit Downtown Annapolis Partnership.
- The Annapolis Holiday Market will take place on City Dock from Thursday, December 12 through Sunday, December 15.
- The Eastport Yacht Club’s Lights Parade is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14.
- The downtown Santa Speedo Run is scheduled for Dec. 14
- The Annapolis Fire Santa Run will take place in neighborhoods throughout Annapolis on Sunday, Dec. 15.
- The Naptown Half Marathon is set for the morning of Saturday, December 21 and will include rolling road closures in downtown.
- City offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 25.
- The Budweiser Clydesdales will parade on West Street during the Military Bowl Parade on Friday, December 27.
- The Military Bowl will take place at Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on Saturday, December 28.
- Chabad of Anne Arundel County’s lighting of the City Dock Menorah is set for December 29.
- The City will host New Year’s Eve fireworks over Spa Creek at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
- City offices will be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2025
