ANNAPOLIS, MD. - This afternoon, my longtime friend and colleague, Treasurer Nancy Kopp, met with me to share the news of her intention to step down as state treasurer.
Nancy and I served together in the legislature for 16 years, and over the past 15 years, we’ve worked together as the fiscal stewards of our state. With her announcement today, her historic 46 years of public service will soon come to an end. She has earned her rightful place in history as one of our state’s most pre-eminent public servants.
The lives of generations of Marylanders are better, our communities stronger, and our future brighter because of Nancy’s staunch commitment to a state she loves.
Annie and I join a grateful state in thanking and congratulating her on her many years of service and contributions throughout her historic career, and wish her and her husband, Robert, the very best.
