Case Rate Drops to 2.6 Per 100K, Lowest Level Since March 29, 2020
Four Counties in Green Zone With Case Rate Under 1 Per 100K
ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today announced that, for the first time, Maryland’s daily COVID-19 positivity rate is under 1 percent.
Daily Positivity Rate and 7-Day Positivity Rate at Record Lows. The state’s daily positivity rate is a record-low 0.74% today, bringing the 7-day statewide positivity rate to a record low 1.39%. The positivity rate has dropped by 76% since mid-April.
Case Rate Drops to 2.60 Per 100K. After reporting 134 cases today, the state’s case rate has dropped to 2.60 per 100K—its lowest level since March 29, 2020. The case rate has dropped by 89% since mid-April.
Four Counties In Green Zone For Case Rates. There are now four counties in the green zone, with case rates under 1 per 100K: Calvert, Caroline, Carroll, and Kent. Official data by jurisdiction is available at coronavirus.maryland.gov.
Hospitalizations Under 350, ICU Levels Under 100. There are 347 COVID-19 patients hospitalized statewide, including 89 in ICU beds. Hospitalizations have dropped by 73% since mid-April.
