Eastport Yacht Club ‘BOAT SHOW BASH’ October 8th, 2011
Outdoor Block Party and Fundraiser

ANNAPOLIS, MD (September 25, 2011) – The EYC Annual Boat Show Bash is just a few days away—October 8, 2011, 6-11pm—and members of the public are invited to attend this block-style party on the water at the Eastport Yacht Club, 317 First Street, (Eastport) Annapolis. The event is a fundraiser which supports community youth served by the Box of Rain and the Eastport Yacht Club Foundation. Sail Boat Show attendees, water lovers and landlubbers alike are invited to dance under the stars to continuous music at EYC – rain or shine. The music starts at 6 p.m. with Matt McConville playing acoustical rock & folk followed by the Tiki Barbarians, a maritime party band and The Rovers, an Irish Celtic rock band. Advance tickets are $10; admission at the gate is $15. Ticket locations: West Marine (Jennifer Road, and Hillsmere and locations), Fawcett Boat Supplies on 919 Bay Ridge Road, Long & Foster on 6th St., EYC’s bar, Helly Hansen on Main Street, and the US Sailboat Show (October 7-8) and online at www.eastportyc.org (until October 1—NO WILL CALL).
Silent Auction and Raffle
Attendees can take part in a silent auction and great raffle to include restaurant and hotel certificates, boating gear, original artwork, Kayaks and more. Tickets for the raffle are $5 for a single ticket or a book of six for $20. They can be purchased at EYC the night of the event. Winning tickets for the Raffle Extraordinaire! will be drawn at the Bash. Winners need not be present.
Boat Show Bash Basics
Food & Libation - Pulled BBQ pork sandwiches, Italian sausages, hamburgers, hot dogs and served with salads. Soft drinks and a wide variety of adult beverages --including Mount Gay Rum drinks-- will be available for purchase.
Getting to the Bash
Free Ride: Annapolis Bus Co. Inc/ Towne Transport offers continuous service every half-hour from the Navy Stadium to EYC with various stops along West Street to downtown. It starts 8-12 p.m. Check online for exact Shuttle stops.
On Foot: From City Dock walk to the party site. It's an easy 10-minute walk through Eastport (across Eastport Bridge, left on Severn, walk 6 blocks, left on First Street). Annapolis Transit's transportation ends at ends at midnight.
By Water: Take the water taxi 410-263-0033 or channel 68. Service runs until midnight. The party site is on the grounds of EYC at Sycamore Point, across from the U.S. Naval Academy and the Annapolis Harbor, on port as you enter the harbor. See NOAA (NOS) Chart 12283 Annapolis Harbor. There will be “Members Only” dinghy dock space at EYC.
By Car: Traffic in Eastport & all of Annapolis will be heavy during the Boat Show. There may be some limited, first-come, first-served street parking. Parking will not be available at EYC.
