There's an old saying that when you fall off a horse, you have to get right back up and try again. Emma lives that philosophy, knowing that the risk of a fall is worth it.
“When people ask me if I'm scared of falling off a horse, I explain that I'm only really afraid I could get an injury that would prevent me from riding,” Emma says. “I guess you could say the same about soccer; I'm never afraid of getting injured, I just worry that I won't be able to finish the game.”
She's looking to finish well in the classroom, too, and is eyeballing Clemson University to study either Sociology or Animal Science. She wants to continue to ride, something she's done since age 12, and play defense in soccer, all the while studying.
Emma lives in Annapolis with her parents, Libby and Peter, and her siblings Paige (15), Kit (9), and Danny (7).
