Ewing, Dietz, Fountain & Kehoe, P.A., is located in an 18th-century building in the heart of downtown Easton. The firm, founded in 1954 by the late L. Clark Ewing, provides valuable legal services and thoughtful counsel to individuals, businesses, community organizations, and local governments throughout the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Today, the firm has nine partners. Talbot County native Tom Fountain, a 2014 Eastern Shore Leading Lawyer in trusts and estates, is well-known and well-respected for his expertise in estate planning and administration.
Phil Dietz, who came to the firm in the 1970s as Mr. Ewing’s first partner, is well-versed in the areas of real estate, zoning, business, banking, and estate planning and administration.
Karen Kaludis, a 2014 Eastern Shore Leading Lawyer in family law and domestic violence, is well-known and highly regarded throughout the mid shore as a dedicated family law attorney and mediator.
Matt Eglseder, a Talbot County native who came to the firm in March of 2014 from his well-established solo practice in St. Michaels, works extensively in the areas of estate planning and estate administration.
Stephen Kehoe, a trial attorney and local government lawyer, serves as Town Attorney for the Town of Centreville and attorney for the Queen Anne’s County Board of Appeals.
Sharon VanEmburgh serves as Town Attorney for the Town of Easton and has developed an extensive civil practice in the areas of trusts and estates, zoning, and land use.
Alexis “Lex” Kramer, a Talbot County native and retired U.S. Naval Officer, is an experienced and tenacious litigator, focusing primarily on general civil, family law, and banking litigation.
Chris Jennings, a trial attorney with years of experience in state and federal courts, focuses his practice on criminal defense and general civil litigation.
Talbot County native Patrick Fitzgerald has a Master of Laws in Taxation and a Certificate in Estate Planning and practices in the areas of estate planning and administration, business formation and planning, real estate, and banking.
Garrett Fitzgerald, who grew up in Talbot County and graduated from the University of Delaware and the University of Baltimore School of Law, is the firm’s newest Associate. Before joining the firm, Garrett served as judicial law clerk to the Hon. Leah J. Seaton in the Circuit Court for Wicomico County.
