The East Ave. Storm Drain Improvement Project involves the installation of over 2,100ft of new, larger storm drain pipe along Rails to Trails (parallel with East Ave.) from Dover St. all the way to the Tanyard Branch, a tributary of the Tred Avon River.
“This is a really critical project to reduce flooding in this area. We’ve experienced some major flooding here, and this new infrastructure will make significant improvements in getting things under control,” said Town Engineer Rick Van Emburgh. “We’ve already seen great results from our Harrison Street Storm Drain Improvement Project earlier this year, and we are excited to see this project through.”
Retallack & Sons, contractors on the project, have been on site since July and have made significant progress, creating an outfall structure and installing over 1,100 ft of pipe underground since then. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
