Addy, a local child born with spina bifida
Just one month after cancer survivor Melissa Smith was awarded $50,000 from Chive Charities, changing her life for the better, Annapolis “Chivers”—supporters of the popular, photo-based website TheChive.com’s philanthropy arm, Chive Charities—will come together to host a “pay it forward” fundraiser for a local child born with spina bifida at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 15th, at Fado Irish Pub.
With guest bartenders, The Chive sponsored silent auction, DJ, drink specials including KCCO Black Lager, and a $5 donation cover, a full on takeover at Fadó Irish pub ensures that “Chivers” and regular guests alike will have an epic night out.
All donations from the event will benefit little Addy, a local child born with spina bifida. To learn more about her story, visit Gofundme.com/4y52q4. Spearheading Friday’s fundraiser is Melissa Smith, who chose Addy as the recipient of her “pay it forward” campaign. Melissa survived Hodgkins Lymphoma twice only to be diagnosed with a rare disorder called Transverse Myelitis, which left her paralyzed from the waist down.
