Jeopardy’s New Hosts
Are you a fan of Jeopardy and, if so, what do you think of the new hosts?
Who would you like to have seen become the new permanent host?
Do you even care?
Here’s what you said:
*Editorial Disclaimer: This topic was posed a full week prior to today's announcement of Mike Richards stepping down from hosting Jeopardy due to allegations about his past.
I'm very pleased with the selection of Mike Richards. of all the actors and CNN folks, he was clearly the best choice. He has the presence and the dignity for the show. I've been a fan since Art Fleming in New York. I've tried out in-person twice and this is a reminder to apply online again.

I don’t like the new hosts. Put Ken Jennings back on. A true jeopardy champion.
James Jolliff, Edgewater
Love the choice of Miyam Bialik.

It is difficult to replace a legend. I am not crazy about the new hosts and think I am not alone. Hopefully people will still watch the shows.

Yes, I've been a big fan for over twenty-five years. I've maintained since day one of the "audition" process, that Mike Richards has been the best host, and most in keeping with Alex's comportment. Of course I care, because why else would I regularly postpone my dinner, until after Jeopardy is concluded!
Greg Stanley, Shady Side
Mike Richards was the best. Mayim was second.

Great work, especially yesterday, Aug. 12.

We like watching Jeopardy. It was interesting watching the different hosts. Some were really bland, some bombed, some fantastic. I would have liked to have seen Buzzy as the permanent host. We will continue watching.

I had hoped that Ken Jennings would be selected as I always enjoy watching him, but I am delighted that Mayim Bianlk was named. Always enjoyed her on her long running TV show and liked her rapport with the Jeopardy contestants during her hosting assignment. I think I've been watching Jeopardy since its beginning days.

I am very pleased with the choices of Mike Richards and Mayim Bialik. Mike worked with Alex and understood his vision and both he and Mayim were excellent guest hosts.

Sony was in a difficult position of replacing Alex, and while I think no matter who was given the privilege of succeeding him could possibly live up to Alex's standard, I am still disappointed by the new hosts. If Sony wanted two different hosts then Jimmy and Sarah of The Clue Crew were there for the selection. As a fan of Jeopardy! I will still continue to watch regardless of the hosts but nonetheless I believe Sony could have gone a different direction.

Intermittent avid fan 30+ years. No one will truly fill the shoes of Trebek. While the host serves as the emcee and answer reader, the show's format, categories, contestants, and memory competition compose its fun and entertainment. While Sony purportedly held a competition for the new host, which it hyped and added hype/advertising to the show, at the end of the day somehow the winner (s) seemed preselected. Of course, I would have chosen the all-time Jeopardy champ to replace Trebek, which would have honored Trebek and excellence.
