Fish for a Cure check presentation at AAMC
On Monday, December 16th the Fish for a Cure crew presented Anne Arundel Medical Center with a check for $230,000 to support the Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Cancer Institute.
Fish for a Cure, the annual fishing tournament that raises funds for the Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Cancer Institute at Anne Arundel Medical center, was held in November. Boats fished out on the Chesapeake and then gathered at Pusser's in Annapolis for the weigh-in.
Captain Cyrus Lashgari and his crew on OSMC placed first in the tournament with an 18-pound rockfish. After the weigh-in at Pusser's Dock Bar, fisherman, guests, and other supporters alike headed upstairs to the ballroom at the Annapolis Waterfront Marriott for the Tournament Bash, which featured lived music, cocktails, and dinner. Captain Dave Jenkins and his crew aboard The Luki Belle raised the most funds—$20,384—to win the 2013 Captains Challenge. In total, Fish for a Cure raised more than $200,000 this year.
