Easton, MD - Disc golf enthusiasts and community members alike are invited to take part in the upcoming “Ford Park Frenzy,” a two-day event showcasing the growing sport of Disc Golf and fundraising for a future permanent course at John F. Ford Park. The event is co-hosted by the Town of Easton Parks and Recreation and Off Course Disc Golf.
Taking place Saturday and Sunday, May 2–3 at John F. Ford Park, the event will feature a unique format with four different course layouts tested over two days, offering a dynamic experience for players of all skill levels. Whether seasoned competitors or first-time participants, all are encouraged to come out and test their skills.
“Whether you’re a seasoned pro or you’ve never even held a disc, these courses were built with you in mind,” says Matt Provencher, founder of Off Course Disc Golf. “I’ve always believed that disc golf belongs to everyone, and honestly, it’s a joy that has been missing from the Shore for far too long.”
Provencher added, “We’re taking every bit of feedback and every smile from this event to ensure the upcoming home at John F. Ford Park is something our whole community can be proud of. It’s such a gift to share this game, help it grow, and meet so many incredible people along the way.”
The event will follow a trophy-only format, with participants able to play casually for a single round or compete across both days. Solo players are welcome and will be grouped upon arrival. The course will open at 9am. each day, and all rounds will be wrapped up and submitted by 3pm. Shortly after an awards gathering will follow.
Prizes will include trophies for top overall scores across both days, as well as discs awarded to the top three players each day. Additional highlights include closest-to-the-pin competitions, giveaways, and $250 in merchandise provided by Off Course Disc Golf. Spectators are also welcome to attend and enjoy the event.
Proceeds from the event will directly support the installation, ongoing improvements and maintenance of a disc golf course at John F. Ford Park. Registration is $35 per person, per day. Sponsorship opportunities are available for both tournaments and individual holes.
“We are so excited to bring disc golf to Easton,” remarked Lorraine Gould, Director of Parks and Recreation. “People are going to have a blast at this event, and we’re looking forward to making Disc Golf a permanent fixture at John F. Ford Park.”
