$20 Per Month Provides Two Hours of Daily Parking
ANNAPOLIS, MD - The City of Annapolis is launching a three month-long parking program aimed at helping seniors and boosting downtown businesses. Seniors 55+ can sign up starting May 11 with the program start date set for Monday, June 1. The “Golden Pass” parking program costs $20 per month and provides two hours of parking each day at Mills Hillman, Main Street, and Maryland Avenue.
Starting Monday, May 11, representatives of Premium Parking will be stationed at City Hall (160 Duke of Gloucester) to help residents sign up for the program. A free, hands-on app tutorial will be provided at that time. Hours of in-person service will be 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday (May 11-15).
The Golden Pass program is available to all seniors 55+, even if they do not live in the City of Annapolis. The program is designed to make parking easier while encouraging residents and visitors to visit, shop, and dine downtown during the program period. Once a user signs up, their subscription will automatically renew each month until the end of the program on August 31 (users can self-cancel at any time from within the app).
From June 1 to August 31, seniors may register their vehicle(s) for $20 per month and receive up to two hours of parking per day at metered spaces on Maryland Avenue, Main Street, and at the Mills Hillman Garage.
“What we learned from the first round was that people needed more time to get signed up, and more time to take advantage of the program,” said Mayor Jared Littmann. “By offering the program for three months, senior residents have time to get signed up and use it. We look forward to seeing folks in downtown.”
The program is being managed in partnership with Premium Parking, the City’s District 1 and 2 parking vendor. Seniors must register their vehicle tag number(s) through an online portal (which can be done online or in-person at City Hall). Registered vehicles will be eligible for daily two-hour parking throughout the program period. Depending on usage, the value of the promotion could total approximately $600 over the course of the three-month period. Standard downtown parking rates are approximately $3 per hour.

This temporary program joins permanent programs like "Residents Park Free," providing City residents with two hours of free parking in downtown garages. Golden Pass parking can be stacked on top of Residents Park Free for up to four hours of free parking. To sign up for Residents Park Free, visit: https://www.annapolisparking.com/parking-decals/.
