Annapolis, MD - On July 3rd Gov. Larry Hogan (R) planned to pull the state of Maryland out of the federal unemployment program due to the shortage of workers. The ruling of a Baltimore City Circuit Court judge on July 13th will prevent Hogan's efforts and instead will extend the $300 weekly payments until September 6th. For unemployed Marylanders struggling to pay their bills, this was a big win, however, Hogan disagrees stating that "This lawsuit is hurting our small businesses, jeopardizing our economic recovery, and will cause significant job loss."
