It is 2020 and Halloween is tomorrow; our last-minute Halloween costume can no longer be a ghost. Yes, it is easy, yes, it is convenient, but this year is the time to really impress people with your costumes. Halloween is an exciting night, especially this year, as a night to get our mind off of COVID, even while being safe and careful. Impress the neighbors with these easy, last-minute costumes, all made out of things you already have in the house.
Punny Costume
Sometimes the punny ones are the easiest. Wear whatever you want, tape Smarties packs all over your pants to instantly become Smarty Pants. Complete the costume with trivia cards and a pair of classes. If you arnt feeling like a Smarty Pants, be one Smart Cookie. Print out pictures of your favorite cookies and tape them to an old cap and gown set. Add to the puns by taping a quarter to the back of your shirt and instantly become the leader of the team, the Quarterback! Dress as a true winner with metals and a sweatband and carry around a few loaves of bread to officially become a breadwinner.
Queen of Hearts
Everyone has their own favorite red dress in the back of the closet; well it is time to pull it out! Make a custom collar with an old deck of cards and add a red heart lipstick on your lips. To make the collar, fan out the cards in a circle and staple them together. Punch a hole in the front two cards and tie it together with a red string.
Men in Black
How much easier does it get for the men? Grab a white button down, skinny black tie, and a pair of dark shades to pull off the iconic movie. If you are feeling a little more musical than sci-fi, add the fedora and instantly become the Blues Brothers.
Graduate
This costume is even easier than being One Smart Cookie! Pull your cap and gown out from last graduation and be a graduate. Roll up a piece of paper and tie it with a red string to make your diploma!
Holy Guacamole
Grab an old green t-shirt and tape printed cut-outs of avocados onto it. Pair with a halo or set of angel wings to make that guacamole super Holy!
50 Shades of Grey
You can still go out trick-or-treating with the kids with this PG 50 Shades costume. Go to the local paint store or hardware store for an array of grey paint swatches. Attach them to a black shirt for a fun and easy costume.
Couples Costumes
Need a good couple costume? Dress in your pajamas and robes to be an old married couple. Or, be ‘Green with Envy’ by one partner wearing green and the other wearing a shirt that is simply labeled “Envy”.
