The White House has created a three-stage plan to reopen our country. Maryland has taken early and aggressive actions to slow the spread of COVID-19 and it has worked. By everyone, except for essential workers staying home and practicing social distancing, we have flattened the curve and are due for a reward. Maryland’s recovery plan is set to go into action, including Stage One of reopening the state. Though it took residents of the whole state working together to be able to flatten the curve and start the reopening phase, each county will be working at its own speed in the recovery process.
The “Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery” has been developed based on the recovery plans issued by the federal government, the National Governors Association, and premier institutions like Johns Hopkins and the American Enterprise Institute; shaped by the expert advice of the scientists and public health officials on Maryland’s Coronavirus Response Team; and tailored to our situation here in Maryland. The result is a responsible, gradual, safe path forward for our state.
