Maryland 2025 - Join the Maryland Department of Natural Resources for an introduction to waterfowl hunting class. This class will cover the basics of waterfowl hunting, including but not limited to the history of waterfowl hunting, the basics of getting started, rules and regulations, safety and ethics. Upon completion of the class, participants will have a base knowledge of what it takes to begin their journey into waterfowl hunting and next steps to continue. This is a free event!
The class will include an approximately 2 hour classroom portion followed by range time consisting of live fire activities. During the range portion, participants will learn basic shotgun operation and how to shoot at a moving target. Shotguns, ammunition, eye and ear protection will be provided. Please do not bring your personal firearm.
Who can join: This event is open to anyone 18 years and older. Participants must have successfully completed a Hunter Education course.

*This event will be held rain or shine* Please dress appropriately for the weather. Part of the workshop will be held indoors while the range portion will take place outdoors. Food is not provided, please bring your own beverages, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, etc. to make your experience more safe and enjoyable.
