Annapolis, MD – Annapolis Mayor Jared Littmann is proud to announce the appointment of Ian Pfeiffer to the position of Deputy Chief of Staff. Pfeiffer started work on April 23, 2026. The position does not require City Council confirmation.
“Having Ian join the team reflects my administration’s commitment to operational excellence,” said Annapolis Mayor Jared Littmann. “I served on the Annapolis City Council with him and have watched him build a solid portfolio of legislative accomplishments in the federal, state, county, and municipal arena. This is another hire that will ensure Annapolis works!”
Pfeiffer brings more than two decades of experience in legislative strategy, government relations, and advocacy to the role. A one-time Annapolis alderman (Ward 7, 2009-2017), Pfeiffer most recently served as the Maryland State Director for the State Innovation Exchange, where he spearheaded policy initiatives and managed complex programmatic portfolios. Pfeiffer will focus on policy strategy, intergovernmental affairs, and the execution of the Mayor’s long-term strategic vision. Pfeiffer will earn $123,191 per year.
