The Great Annapolis Pumpkins have arrived in Downtown Annapolis
Have you ever seen a 1,000 or 1,500 pound pumpkin? Now you can see three of them in downtown Annapolis through Halloween! This is the first year that giant pumpkin displays have been brought to downtown Annapolis. People are looking for fun and safe ways to enjoy the fall season and downtown Annapolis is providing those options with outdoor dining, giant pumpkins, haunted tours, art markets, and more this fall. After seeing everyone wanting their picture taken with the giant pumpkins several restaurants joined together and have donated 16 gift cards that the public can have a chance to win when they post their pictures of the giant pumpkins to social media using the hashtag #GreatAnnapolisPumkin. The restaurants that donated the gift cards for the contest include Dangerously Delicious Pies, Osteria 77, Buddy's Crabs and Ribs, 49 West Coffeehouse, Federal House Bar and Grill, Iron Rooster, Latitude 38, Lemongrass, and Tsunami. The winners are being selected and announced by WRNR 103.1 FM Radio regularly now through Halloween. This is the perfect opportunity to create a unique photo to share with friends. So far family photos and family pets getting their pictures with the giant pumpkins have been very popular in the photos posted on Instagram and Facebook.
Maryland Chamber Announces Inspire Maryland Award Recipient
The Maryland Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce BGE as the 2020 Inspire Maryland award winner. Their contributions to the community in 2020 set them apart as a standout company. From dedication to workforce development, as seen in their participation of the Maryland Chamber Foundation’s Teacher Externship Program, to setting an outstanding example of leadership in their field with their Civic works and Smart Energy Workforce Development Programs, BGE truly exemplifies what the Inspire Maryland awards are all about. BGE’s Civic Works job training program focuses on expanding access to careers for Maryland residents who may otherwise be locked out of family-wage job opportunities. BGE partnered with Civic Works – providing financial support and helping to design the Utility Infrastructure training program. BGE also engages local contractors and provides ongoing feedback to ensure graduating trainees are fully prepared for utility construction work. Through their Civic Works Collaborative program, BGE has graduated 41 Baltimore residents so far.

Academy Art Museum Opens New Exhibit: Accidental Icons
From the late 1950s until his death, Andy Warhol produced thousands of photographs of his Factory life, surrounded by fellow artists, celebrities and socialites. From close, brightly-lit Polaroids (some of which served as drafts for his silkscreens), to lucid yet moody silver gelatin prints of the people, objects and places of his time, Warhol created a visual diary that transformed the personalities in his midst into vernacular icons.
