The Chesapeake Bay Foundation is Suing EPA for Failure to Enforce Cleanup Plan
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation sued the Environmental Protection Agency on September 10th claiming the agency failed to enforce bay cleanup goals for Pennsylvania and New York. Will Baker, Bay Foundation President, says that Pennsylvania and New York failed to provide “reasonable assurance” in their plans that they would meet their pollution reduction goals. He says the EPA did not fulfill their responsibility to impose consequences as the result.

Great Frogs Winery Experiences Damage from Recent Tornado
Great Frogs Winery in Annapolis will be temporarily closed due to a direct hit from the tornado on September 3rd. The tornado left severe damage to the Winery’s tasting room. Preakness Rescheduled
The owners of Preakness Stakes announced that Preakness 145 will be held October 3rd without fans. The race will be televised live on NBC starting at 4:30 p.m. On race day, the only people allowed on-site will be essential racing personnel and horsemen. People who currently have tickets will be able to transfer their purchase to next year’s Preakness or apply for a full refund.
Maryland Department of Natural Resources Introduces Mentored Hunt Program
Maryland Mentored Hunt Program is a new, statewide program aimed to pair new, novice, or lapsed hunters of any age with skilled veteran hunters. The mentors will help guide new hunters throughout the process of building their skills. Apply now to be a mentor or a mentee here.
