Local Non-Profit Announces Music Grant for Anne Arundel County High School Students
Annapolis, MD – The Annapolis (MD) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated is accepting applications for its Joyce Picot McManus (JPM) Musical Grant. This grant is in memory of the significant contributions to the arts made by Mrs. McManus and her legacy of musical excellence. A gifted soloist and pianist, and an award-winning choir director, McManus devoted three decades to music education in the Anne Arundel County Public School System. Additionally, as a revered champion of the arts, McManus founded and served on the boards of numerous arts and civic organizations, including the Annapolis Opera, the Annapolis Fine Arts Club and the Cultural Arts Board of Anne Arundel County.
The JPM Musical Grant is designed to provide high potential students in underrepresented communities, with an award of up to two thousand dollars for tools and training to further their music development. Applicants must attend Anne Arundel County Schools in grades nine through twelve. Whether a student is a music novice or experienced, or if their style is classical, country, jazz, blues, rock, rap, or hip-hop, the JPM Musical Grant can enhance their artistic expression.
